Janice Marie Bailey, 72, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Born on November 5, 1953, Janice was the daughter of the late Anna Marie "Doris" MacKay Bailey and James "Willard" Bailey. She attended and graduated from the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind and was previously a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.

Janice was known for her vivacious smile, infectious laughter, and deep love for her family. She found great joy in spending time with those she loved and never missed an opportunity to be part of family gatherings, holidays, celebrations, and special occasions. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Marie "Doris" MacKay Bailey and James "Willard" Bailey, and her younger sister, Donna Bailey Martin and brother-in-law, Al Bauer.

Janice is survived by her brother, John J. "Jack" Bailey and his wife, Shirlyn; her sisters, Linda Robertson (David Waxman) and Jane Guevara; her nieces and nephews, Caine Jeffcoat, Chrissy Bailey (Tripp), Stacey Rimer, Chaz Guevara (Lindsey), Mario Guevara, and Alycia Rogers (Drew); and her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Austin Reely, Megan Reely, Lauren Rimer, Ashton Rimer, and Brayden Chance.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service.

Janice will be remembered for the joy she brought to others, the love she shared so freely, and the treasured memories she created with family and friends. Her beautiful smile, laughter, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Foundation or National Association of the Deaf.
