Joan Widas Anderson, 77, of El Paso, passed away surrounded by her family on May 14, 2026.
She was born in El Paso on February 24, 1949. Joan graduated from Austin High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. She worked as a Pre-K teacher at Logan Elementary for over 20 years.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents (Rudolfo “Rudy” Widas, Catalina “Katy” San Roman Widas) , her younger sister (Virginia “Gina” Andrade) and twin sister (Jo Anne Widas).
She is survived by her daughter (Melissa Anderson), her sons (Jeffrey Anderson, Edward Anderson, & Phillip Anderson) her grandchildren (Jacob Anderson, & Madison Anderson) and ex-husband (Thomas “Tom” Anderson).
Visitation and Rosary will be held at 9:30 on May 27th at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East, 12400 Montana. Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1315 Travis Street. Interment will follow the mass at Evergreen Cemetery East, 12400 Montana.
