Joann L Gaddis

Joann Hudson Gaddis, age 91, of Rockfish, NC passed away on September 13, 2026.Joann was born in Erwin, NC to the late Fredis Stevenson Hudson and Boyd Bruce Hudson, Sr. on October 31, 1934.She was a military wife of a proud Green Beret for 20 years, living in Germany a total of 8 years as well as the Fort Bragg, NC area. She enjoyed reading and books from an early age. Her privilege and joy to be employed sharing that with three schools on the elementary level in Cumberland County for a total of 26 years.She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, above all, a child of the King.She is predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Gaddis; her three sons, Richard, Tom and Daniel Gaddis; and her brother, Bruce Hudson and wife, Carmel Hudson.She is survived by her two daughter-in-laws, Gina Gaddis of Lillington, NC, and Susan Sherma Gaddis of Asheville, NC; her sisters Kaye Lambert (Bill) of Fayetteville, NC, Gail Zimmerman of Johnson City, TN, Pamela Haskett (David) of Yorktown, VA; 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces, one nephew, their families, as well as friends like family.Psalm 16:11"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."A funeral service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3219 Lindsay Rd, Raeford, NC 28376, on September 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tommy Underwood officiating.
