It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of João Luis Oliveira, who left us on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the Gatineau Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 67.
He was the lifelong companion of Maria Melo, a devoted father and a cherished grandfather. João Luis was a man of exceptional kindness, someone who brought warmth and comfort to everyone he met. His gentle presence touched many lives, and his absence leaves a deep void in our hearts. He will remain forever alive in our thoughts and memories.
He leaves in mourning his companion, Maria Melo; his children Tanya (Alex), Kevin (Samara), Yasmine (Jovani), and Erik; his granddaughters Scotlyn and Addison; his brother Emmanuel (Sharon); his sisters Maria de Carmo (Manuel), Maria Helena (Arthur) and Fatima (Sylvain) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will hold a tender and loving memory of him. He was predeceased by his parents, João and Etelvina Oliveira.
