Erik Jensen passed away peacefully at Southwood Care Centre on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 100 years.
Born in Calgary on June 18, 1926, Erik was a loving and devoted husband, a true charmer, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He was part of the Brentwood community for many years and was a great neighbour to all who knew him.
Erik was a fantastic dad, mild mannered, kind, and always welcoming. The grandparents’ house was the place to go, and he took great joy in having his family around him.
Erik enjoyed painting and photography. After retirement, he took up playing the piano, always enjoying the opportunity to learn something new.
Erik will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 74 years, Irene; daughter Elaine; son Dave (Lisa); and son-in-law Chris Kenny. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Kyla, Chantelle (Abe), Joey and Larissa; great granddaughter Sophia.
Erik was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Kenny, in 2004.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Parkland Unit at the Southwood Care Centre for their care and many acts of kindness.
