Jose Eddie Echevarria ”Joe” passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 26, 1934. He graduated from Ponce High School.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Eugenia, to whom he was married for 57 years, his three children Jose, Vanessa and Waleska, his five grandchildren Jose Raul, Kevin Joseph, Kenisha Marie, Andrew Joseph and Alejandro, his great grandchild Daniele, his sister Milagros “Guin” and his daughter-in-law Mayra and his two sons-in-law Eric and Marcelo.
Jose worked for Delta Airlines for 19 years as a cargo agent. He served the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
He had a passion for Colombian music and culture, and loved making CDs for everyone. He loved to take care of his bird “Tweety”. For many years, he served as an active member of his church community.
