Joyce Merchant Brash

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Merchant Brash, which occurred at Maria Hospital, surrounded by family, on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, at the age of 78.

She was predeceased by her parents George Merchant and Lila Best, and her brother Cecil. She leaves behind her husband James Brash, son Michael (Julie), sister Linda, grandchildren Kurtis, Jaden and Dylan, nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.

As her father before her, she had a great love of gardening, birds, and nature. She was involved in the community and very active. Known and loved by all for her wonderful outlook and beautiful spirit. Her sister didn’t call her “Joy” by accident. Taken from us way too early, she will remain in our hearts and will be forever missed.

Please be advised that condolences will be held at the St. Andrews United Church in New Richmond on Sunday July 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. Funeral at 11 a.m. burial to follow at the Black Cape Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the United Church.

Professional services have been entrusted to the Henri Thibodeau Funeral Home Inc, a subsidiary of the HG Division network certified Distinction by the Corporation des Thanatologues du Québec and by the Bureau de Normalisation du Québec.
