Karen was the loving wife of Richard Spector, with whom she shared a life filled with fun and devotion. She is also survived by her three cherished stepdaughters and their husbands, Janet (John) Spector Bishop, Jacquie (Stuart) Gardner, and Jennifer (Chad) Tuschman, and her seven devoted step grandchildren, James, Jack, Teagan, Lucy, Ava, Tenley, and Wyatt, who loved her. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Lilly, who was a treasured part of her life as were her other nine cats she loved during her life.

Karen was a woman of grace, kindness, and quiet generosity. She had a deep and abiding love for animals. She was also a passionate reader who found great pleasure in books, especially mystery stories. She had a Law Degree and was an excellent cook
Karen was a humble and private philanthropist, quietly supporting causes that were close to her heart, particularly animal welfare shelters and Jewish community organizations. She never sought praise for her generosity and never talked about it; giving was simply part of who she was.
