Kenneth W. Childs

Kenneth W. Childs, 82, of Warm Springs, Georgia, passed away on September 16, 2026. Born June 25, 1944, Kenneth will be remembered with deep respect and enduring love.
Kenneth devoted 30 years of faithful service to the U.S. Postal Service, work he carried out with steady commitment and pride. He also served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, including service in the Vietnam war—an expression of duty that remained an important part of his life and legacy.
A beloved husband and family man, Kenneth is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl Childs; his nephew and niece, Jesse (Rachel) and Kary (Colton); and two grandsons, Garrison and McKade. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and John Child's, and his sister, Kay Hutchinson.
Kenneth’s life was grounded in what mattered most to him: god, his family, and his country. He found genuine contentment outdoors, working in his yard and moving the earth—simple, honest labor that reflected the steady way he lived.
He was a member of Church of Christ in Pine Mountain Valley, where he was known as a respectful member and a valued presence within the congregation.
