Phillip Lamar “Fuzzy” Bell, age 78, of Cartersville, GA passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. He was born in Canton, GA on February 9, 1948, to Paul Bell and Adell Setser Bell.
Lamar was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to tell a great story, joke, or even pull a mischievous prank. Lamar and Vivian were high school sweethearts and married for 58 years. He graduated from Cherokee High School. He partnered with Paul and Gene Bell at Bell Logging for over 25 years. He worked for Lloyd Haynes Grading and finished his career with the Cherokee County Road Department. He and Vivian have been valuable members of The Church at Liberty Square where Lamar served in many roles such as Usher, Elder and Board Member, Prayer Partner, Brave Hearts, Choir Member, and Men of Valor. He loved sports especially Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. He was an Army Veteran who enjoyed umpiring, playing travel softball, and coaching for men’s, women’s, co-ed, and youth leagues. He was also President of the Cherokee County Umpires Association for Softball for many years.
