Laurence Philip Lazar

Laurence Lazar passed away peacefully on the morning of August 23, 2026 at the age of 81.Laurence lived a full and wonderful life, defined by his warmth, optimism, and devotion to his family. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people and was known for his easy charm, big smile, and genuine enjoyment of life. He was someone people naturally gravitated toward, and his presence brought happiness and laughter to those around him. He leaves behind a family whom he adored and in return, loved him enormously. Laurence had deep-rooted friendships that spanned decades and provided him with treasured memories.Laurence was predeceased by his beloved wife and the mother of his children, Ellen Lazar. Their life together and the family they built were central to who he was, and her loss was deeply felt throughout the years.Laurence is survived by his children, Jason and Lauren Lazar and Jodie Lazar, and his grandchildren, Emma and Hudson.The family asks that donations in his memory be made to either Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or Impact Israel. Cancer profoundly touched Laurence’s life and the lives of those he loved. Impact Israel and the Yemin Orde youth village have been turning Israel's most vulnerable youth into upstanding individuals through the power of education for over 70 years.He will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
