Lois Kathleen (LaHuis) Schut

September 30, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Lois Kathleen (LaHuis) Schut went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Lois was born on September 1, 1932. She will be greatly missed by the family she so loved and who so loved her.

The Lord was first in her life and family so dear: husband, Roger Schut (deceased 2008); son, Kevin (deceased 2015) (MaryAnn) and their children: Stephen and Esther (his daughter, Leigha {Isaac} and sons Kevin and Archer), Nicole (Tony) (their sons Ryan {Bryn} and Dylan, and daughter, Maryn), Danica (her son, Loki); daughter, Cheryl and her children: Stefanie (Brandon) (their daughter, Mia, and Nicolas (his daughters Gabriella and Isabella); son, David (Nadine) and their children: Nicole (Kendall) (their son, Hunter), Casey (Alison) (their son, Quinn, and daughters Charlee and Danni), Justin (Kadee), Ethan (Madeline); daughter, Susan (Douglas Koning).

Lois was also preceded in death by her parents Roy and Hattie LaHuis; siblings Fred LaHuis, Mary Sikkema, and Jean Curtis. Surviving is sister, Ruth VanOss; brother-in-law, Robert Schut; and sister-in-law, Donna Schut.

Per Mom’s wishes, there will be no formal service. There will, however, be a “Meet and Fellowship” celebration of Mom’s life. It will be held at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Avenue, Hudsonville, MI 49426. Please come anytime from 1-3 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 to meet with family and eat and enjoy fellowshipping with each other.

We are thankful for our beloved mother living a life showing us Jesus. Her master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! Come and share your Master’s happiness.” Matthew 25:23.

We rejoice that she is now “with our Lord in paradise.” Luke 23:43.

In lieu of fresh flowers that she loved so much, Mom’s request was that donations in her memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.

The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
