Louise Tarte

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Louise Tarte (Bégin, Michaud), on Monday September 7, 2026, at the age of 93, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Louise lived her entire life in Montreal, the daughter of the late Jean-Louis Tarte and Corinne Blagdon. She shared 32 years of marriage with Marc Bégin. Following their divorce, 17 years with André Michaud. Both predeceased her.
An elegant, vibrant woman with an impeccable sense of style, Louise loved to travel and embraced life with curiosity and “joie de vivre”. Her greatest joy, however, was always her family. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Claire Forbes (the late Jim Forbes), Anne Bégin (Albert Mamane), and Lucie Bégin (Greg McGlashan); her five grandchildren, Stephanie and Marc Forbes; David (Mellissa Stern), Adam (Françis Parent-Mailloux), and Leah Mamane; and her two cherished great-granddaughters, Aria and Ellie Mamane. She will also be dearly missed by her sister-in-law, Ann Tarte, and her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a very large circle of friends.
Louise's warmth, elegance, and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her. She was an active member of the Dorval community, volunteering her time generously to those around her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Center for their compassion and exceptional care of our mother in her final weeks.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Veronica's Church, 1300 Carson, Dorval, H9S 1M6. The family will receive condolences beginning at 10:00 a.m.. After the service, a reception will follow at “Sarto-Desnoyers” Dorval Community Center, 1335 Lakeshore, Hall C, H9S 2E2 until 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland.
