Margarita Garza Salinas, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, peacefully left to be with the Lord on September 29, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing leaves a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, faith, and treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Margarita was born on July 27, 1934, in Alice, Texas, to Doroteo Garza and Luisa Fuentes. Throughout her 92 years of life, Margarita was devoted to her family and found joy in the simple blessings that made each day special. She was a woman who gave freely of her time and love, always finding ways to make others feel welcomed, cared for, and remembered.
Margarita had many passions that brought her happiness. She enjoyed making beautiful jewelry, sewing, and preparing delicious meals for her family. She especially loved spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers and caring for her garden. Her garden was a reflection of her gentle spirit—full of beauty, patience, and love. She also enjoyed making new friends and visiting with those she held dear. With a compassionate heart, Margarita found great fulfillment in helping the elderly, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer her kindness. She also enjoyed the excitement of going to garage sales, where she could spend time searching for special treasures and enjoying the experience along the way.
Above all, Margarita treasured her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The love she poured into her family will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
Margarita is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Erasto Salinas; her son, Erasto Salinas Jr; her parents, Doroteo Garza and Luisa Fuentes; and her siblings, Nicolas Garza and Delfina Garcia, who preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her children, Aurora (Juan) Rios, Maria de la Luz Tanguma, and Rosalinda (†Leonel) Villarreal; along with 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know her.
Though her hands may no longer tend to her flowers, her love continues to bloom in the hearts of everyone she touched. Though her voice may no longer fill the home with conversation and laughter, her stories, kindness, and lessons will continue to be shared by generations to come.
Margarita leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy built on love. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Her family finds comfort knowing that she has been called home to be with the Lord and reunited with those who went before her, where she now rests in eternal peace.
