Marguerite Henley Edelmann was born on March 7, 1928, during a snowstorm in Fayetteville, AR to Benjamin Isaac Slate and Grace Jeffries Slate. She shared her childhood memories and developed a love of reading from a young age. Marguerite married Edwin Albert Edelmann on September 19, 1946, and they had several children. She had a career at the Arkansas State Department of Health and was a devout Catholic. Marguerite loved animals, gardening, playing scrabble, reading, and camping. She was survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, and passed away at home on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 2026.
