Maria Teresa Solorzano passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 84. A longtime resident of Imperial Beach, California, Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, strength, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.
Maria was born on February 19, 1942, in Valle Grande, Bolivia. On December 17, 1960, she married the love of her life, Carlos Alejandro Solorzano, and together they created a beautiful family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Maria (Chris) Matthews, Melby (Mike ) Solorzano-Vessey, Luis (Mary) Solorzano, Cathy Solorzano and Carlos (Danielle) Solorzano. Grandchildren: Mark Jr., Mindy, Max, Mario, Louie, Dominic, Alexis, MJ, Steven, and Sara; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Tatiana, Mya, Celina, Mark III, and Dionte, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Maria is further survived by her siblings, Norma Perez and Enrique Goldstrom.
Known for lighting up every room she entered, Maria dedicated much of her life to caring for and helping others. Her love for family was the center of her world, and her kindness, wisdom, and vibrant spirit will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
