Gwen entered her heavenly home on July 14, 2026, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa, active member of Forest Lake Baptist Church, devoted wife of 61 years, and was known for her kindness, faith, and caring nature. She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy L. Smith and Jessie Isbell Smith, and her siblings. Gwen is survived by her husband, her sisters Marilyn Chambers and Marceline Mott, her sister-in-law Lenora Smith, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of her life was held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.
