Mary "Kathleen" Gunckle, age 89, of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Trustwell Living at Oakley Place in Greenville.
Kathleen was born on July 19, 1937, in Greenville to the late Lewis and Mary (Smart) Kinnison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray A. Gunckle, whom she married on June 9, 1957; her daughter in law, Debra Gunckle; her grandson, Alex Gunckle; and her siblings, William Kinnison, John Kinnison, Herman Kinnison, Joyce Kinnison, Ralph Kinnison and Dorothy Hankins.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Tom Gunckle, Tim and Robin Gunckle and Todd and Barbara Gunckle; her grandsons, Ronny and Mari Gunckle, Randy and Leighia Gunckle, Tyler and Tasha Gunckle, Jacob and Starr Gunckle and Daniel Gunckle and 9 great grandchildren; her sister, Pat and Galen Riley; her sister-in-law, Vivian Kinnison, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Kathleen was a 1955 graduate of Franklin Monroe High School. She attended the Stelvideo Christian Church. She was an avid crafter who made many handmade items for friends and family. She loved fishing at Bass Lake in Canada with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharpeye Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Day-City Hospice or The Stelvideo Christian Church.
