Maudlean Anderson, a loving wife, nurturing mother, and true servant of God, passed away peacefully at the age of 87.

Born on August 9, 1939, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Maudlean was the eldest daughter among 13 children born to Willie and Christina Dunn. Growing up alongside her six sisters and six brothers, she developed a natural warmth, leadership, and deep devotion to faith and family that defined her entire life.

In her early twenties, Maudlean moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she met and married the love of her life and best friend, Raymond Anderson. Their rare and remarkable love carried them through 57 wonderful years of marriage until Raymond's passing in 2019. She took great pride in the life and family she and Raymond built together, raising two cherished daughters, Yolande and Tracie. Maudlean poured her heart into creating a family and a warm, welcoming home filled with love. Her care extended far beyond her immediate household. She opened her doors and heart to her family, helping her mother and the majority of her siblings relocate to Kansas City, where they remained a close-knit family into adulthood.

Maudlean loved cooking and bringing everyone together for holiday dinners. Her kitchen was the heart of family gatherings, and she was famous for her mouthwatering apple pies and delicious oatmeal cookies.

Faith was the anchor of Maudlean's life. As a longtime, faithful member of Longview United Methodist Church, she offered kindness and support to anyone in need, volunteering both at church and in the newborn nursery at a local hospital. She displayed that same dedication in her professional life, working at AT&T manufacturing telecommunications equipment for more than 25 years, where her strong work ethic earned the respect of her colleagues and lifelong friendships.

Outside of work and church, she loved to travel, sharing countless joyful vacations and adventures with her cherished "traveling crew" of friends and family. Petite in frame and always polished, she had a natural flair for style that stayed with her throughout her life. Her grandchildren, Brittney and Brandon, brought her tremendous joy and pride, as did her great-grandson, Elijah, whose visits in her later years never failed to bring a smile to her face and coax a soft laugh from her.

Maudlean leaves behind a rich legacy of love, faith, and family. She is survived by her two daughters, Yolande (Bennie) Harrison and Tracie Anderson; her beloved grandchildren, Brittney and Brandon Harrison; her great-grandson, Elijah Harrison; her sisters, Ruby (Chester) Webster, Viola Maybin, Geralean Foster, and Jackie Morris; her brothers, Johnthan (Sandy) Dunn and Alfonso (Gail) Dunn; as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131 on October 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm. Committal will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
