Maureen Levy age 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 15, 2026.
Maureen devoted 35 years of her life to teaching in the Chicago Public Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. After retiring from teaching, she embraced a well-deserved and very full life, enjoying traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Risa Levy-Gilbert, Edward Levy, Marilyn Levy Doane, Michael Levy, Robert Levy, and Ilyse Friedman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Yetta Levy, and her siblings, Virginia Friedman, Howard Levy, and Charles Levy
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Association or the American Cancer Society in Maureen’s memory.
A Graveside Service will be held at Waldheim Cemetery Co., 1400 Des Plaines Ave, Forest Park, IL 60130, US, on August 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
