Maxie Gene Stewart, Jr., age 72 of Jackson, passed away on September 13, 2026.Maxie was born on February 1, 1954, in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Maxie Gene Stewart, Sr. and Rachel Brown Stewart. He proudly served the City of Jackson Fire Department for 36 years, retiring as Chief of Department.In addition to his parents, Maxie was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Stewart.He is survived by his wife, Gwen Stewart; his children, Ashley Stewart (Pete) and Alexander Stewart (Jessica); three grandchildren, Maria, Oakleigh, and Kobie; and his sisters, Beth Wilson (Randy) and Bonnie Chamberlain.The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home.
