Melissa Carrie Downing, 51, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was born on February 18, 1975, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Melissa had a love for writing and found joy in expressing herself through her words.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard “Dick” Downing.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Diana Downing; her children, Matthew “Matt” Daum and Lauren Little; her sister, Leigh-Ann Downing; and her brother, Sean Saunders.
Visitation for Melissa will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W. Jefferson St., La Grange, KY 40031 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm.
