Mr. Walter Jordan Himes

In the early hours of June 3, Walter Jordan Himes, beloved father, grandfather and husband passed away in Goodyear, AZ.He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Patricia Ann, his mother Ruthie Maude Allen and grandmother Louvina “Lou” Roberts Allen. Walter is survived by his daughter Stacy Ann, son Todd Allen, Todd’s wife Madeline and his grandson Calvin. Walter remarried in 2013 and leaves behind his 2nd wife Michelle, her daughters Brianna and Callie and grandchildren Parker, Elloise and Gianna who brought him such happiness. Born in Alabama, Walter served in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, eventually settling in Maryland where he lived for many years until retiring from the Federal Government and moving to Arizona.His professional career afforded him the opportunity to travel the world over, a lifelong source of pride and joy for him, and at home he was dedicated to his family, his vegetable garden, youth sports and an avid consumption of print journalism. In retirement Walter took to many rounds of golf, hands of poker and continued travel to remain active and social.The family will hold a small gathering on June 19th at Ann’s gravesite where Walter will be laid to rest alongside her.
