Nina Tinter, age 97, passed away peacefully at her home on June 1, surrounded by love and memories of a life well lived.

Nina was the beloved wife of the late Boris Tinter and a devoted mother to Mickey and Bernard. Mother-in-law to Janet and Gertrude. She was a proud grandmother to Brent, Adam, Heidi, and Ashley, and blessed to be a great-grandmother of eight. At the age of 17, following the end of World War II, Nina met Boris, and the two were married within weeks. After 3 years, they moved to the United States, where they built a life together and shared a loving marriage that lasted nearly 50 years.

Nina experienced a remarkable life marked by both hardship and resilience. As a teenager in Poland and Russia during World War II, she endured immense challenges. She traveled extensively with family and friends, spoke five languages, and loved learning about different cultures. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed reading and creating cherished memories with her family and friends. Nina will be remembered as a strong, resilient woman whose stories and lessons will remain an enduring part of her legacy.

She will be deeply missed but forever cherished. Her memory is a blessing.

A Graveside Funeral will be held at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704, US, on June 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
