Norma Pardo Pentecostes was born on February 8, 1952, in Gonzaga, Cagayan, Philippines, to Alfredo and Maria Pardo. She was admired for her natural beauty and crowned Miss Gonzaga during the town fiesta in her high school years. Several years later, she met Jose Pentecostes, a former U.S. Navy man. They married the day after they met and moved to San Diego shortly after. They have been together since marrying in 1975, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2025.
After starting her family, Norma worked at Unisys Corporation, a major microchip manufacturer, for more than 20 years. When she retired, she devoted her time to caring for her three children and helped her siblings emigrate to the United States.
Norma was thoughtful, loving, and friendly, and her beautiful smile radiated her warmth and kind nature. She enjoyed singing, gardening, and especially cooking. She was well known for her Ilocano dishes, ‘dinardaraan’ and ‘papaitan.’ She found her greatest joy in caring for others through her food.
Norma passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, with her family and close friends by her side. She is survived by her husband, Jose, her three children, Jonel, Jonathan, and Jenilyn, and her three grandsons, Alexander, Henri, and Anakin.
