Francis Patrick “Pat” McCoy was born January 19, 1947, in Cumberland, Maryland, to Patrick and Elizabeth McCoy. He was the oldest of four siblings: Mike, Bill, and Marianne. After graduating from Wheaton High School, Pat served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, including time in Okinawa, Japan.
Pat’s life took him from Maryland to Arkansas, where his daughter Kelli was born, and eventually to Oklahoma, where his career as an educator and coach brought him to Noble Public Schools. There, in 1985, he met the love of his life, Genese. They married on July 11, 1987, and together built a life centered around faith, family, friendship, and adventure.
Together, Pat and Genese raised their sons, Tony and Jeff. His children and grandchildren were the great loves of his life.
Pat later spent many years with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a teacher and education administrator. Away from work, he loved golf, OU football, traveling with Genese, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, and spending time with family and friends.
Pat never met a stranger and was always ready for another adventure. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and now joins his beloved son, Jeff, who went before him.
