It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Paulette Fortin Joly who died peacefully on August 18, at the age of 72, after a long and brave fight against cancer. She was the daughter of the late Emmanuel Fortin and the late Irène Potvin.

She leaves behind her husband Jacques Joly, her daughter Stephanie Joly (Martin Vekeman) and her son Mathieu, her dear nephew Robert Godmaire (Rachelle Joly), her beloved grandchildren Alexis, Laurianne, Gabriel, and Elisabeth, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who supported her during her long journey. She was predeceased by her sister Diane Fortin (André Goulet).

She was a dedicated employee at the Conference Centre of the Canadian Government (GCC), Guest Services, for her entire career with over 34 years of service.

A celebration of her life, in the presence of her ashes, will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Cooperative Funeral Home of Outaouais located at 1369, boul. La Vérendrye Ouest in Gatineau. The family will receive condolences starting at 9:15 AM.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Oncology Center at Gatineau Hospital, especially Dr. Dominique Fréchette; the palliative care service at CLSC Hull, including Nadia Roy, nurse; her invaluable family doctor Dr. Nadine Arvisais; and the entire caring and dedicated staff of La maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie for their kindness, empathy, and excellent care.
