Peggy Ann Catron

April 23, 2026 Hope, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Peggy Ann Catron (née Swinehart), born June 6, 1946, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her hometown. She was the second of five children born to Mark Leroy Swinehart and Wilma Isabel Malson. Peggy was raised and educated in Phoenix, where she graduated from high school.

On February 28, 1985, Peggy met the love of her life, Gary. Their connection was immediate and enduring, and the two became inseparable—true best friends who shared life side by side. They were later married at the courthouse in Akron, Ohio, in a meaningful ceremony attended by Gary’s parents and Peggy’s entire family.

Peggy and Gary did everything together. They shared a love of travel and explored much of the western United States, including California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, and throughout Arizona. One of their most memorable adventures was an Alaskan cruise, where they also had the opportunity to visit Canada.

They also shared the simple joys of everyday life. Peggy loved reading, playing card games on her tablet, and especially enjoyed mystery stories. Gary, often right beside her, spent time on his tablet as well, creating “sketches,” a form of painting by numbers. Their companionship was constant and deeply cherished.

Both Peggy and Gary worked for a subsidiary of General Electric, where Peggy handled customer service in the call center—skillfully navigating even the most difficult conversations—while Gary served in a managerial role.

Peggy had a vibrant personality and brought joy to those around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was fun to be around, and truly loved life. She also enjoyed collecting special treasures, including flamingos, teapots, and coffee cups—collections that Gary will forever hold dear.

Peggy is survived by her devoted husband, best friend, and love of her life, Gary; her daughter, Maria, and Maria’s husband, Ryan; her son, Joseph, and his wife, Beth; her sister, Ellie; her brother, Mark; and her grandchildren Sil, and Rhys. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her younger brother; and her sister, Linda, who welcomed her into heaven.

Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and forever cherished.
