Ramelito Fuentes went home to the Lord on September 22nd, 2026, after battling pancreatic cancer.
Ramel was born April 3rd, 1968, in Balanga, Bataan, to Ramon and Guillermina, the youngest of their three children. He attended BNSAT, the Bataan National School of Arts and Trades, graduating in 1983.
Two years later, Ramel immigrated to the US in 1985, settling into Seattle. He completed his bachelor's in social welfare in 1999 at the University of Washington, attaining a master's in social work the next year. After finishing his studies, he was hired as a systems analyst for UW's Own Housing and Food Services Department, proudly working there for 37 years.
Ramel's greatest strength was his connection to others. From CEOs to passing strangers, he showed everyone kindness and respect. His strong Catholic faith showed through his works of service. He was ever reliable, always ready to lend a hand. He loved to spend time with relatives and friends. His favorite time of the year was hosting summer picnics at Golden Gardens, manning the grill with a smile.
Ramel is survived by his beloved wife, Imelda, as well as his two siblings, Victor and Eda. But all of us, family and friends, will remember him in every gathering to come. While we will not see him physically, we know his presence will still be in our midst.
