Raymond Dudley Youmans

Raymond D. Youmans, 87 of Grand Junction, CO passed away September 5, 2026.Ray was born January 29, 1939 to Ethyl and Victor Youmans in Flint Michigan. He was the youngest of 4 brothers.Ray was an Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam era. He then worked for Grumans Aircraft in Bethpage, Long Island.He married Valerie (Terry) Ligouri in 1967. They moved to Grand Junction in 1971 with their 4 Children; Robert (Linda) Dunn, Deborah (Mark) Hinnant, Diana (David) South and Darlene (Ernie) Sanchez (both deceased.)Ray owned several businesses in Rocks; gems and silversmithing. He then went to work for the school district, Retiring after 20 years.In his retirement he finally got to do what he loved the most full time, His passions were rock hunting; jewelry making, elk hunting and carpentry. Ray could be found hiking on mountains or in the desert on any given day.Ray is survived by his wife Terry, 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandsons.Graveside with Military honors will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction on September 29, 2026 at 10am.
