Reneida Davis (maiden- Thomas), 70, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away August 23, 2026, with her husband Alfred Davis by her side at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.
Born August 11, 1956, in Indianapolis to Frank Hampton and Vernita Tiggs. Reneida spent her early years working as a nursing assistant, caring for the elderly. Later, becoming a devoted wife to her husband Alfred Davis of 32 years, on December 24th, 1994. Shortly after marriage, Alfred expressed his desire for his wife to transition into a homemaker.
Reneida was also a loving and caring mother to Antwane Thomas, Sharee Malik, Deobalek Thoms, Amber Davis, and Ariel Davis. She loved her children deeply and was always there offering guidance, encouragement, support, and unconditional love. Her children will forever carry the lessons she taught and the love she shared so freely.
Between the earth and the sky above, nothing can match a grandparent’s love. Reneida treasured her fourteen grandchild and nineteen great grandchildren. Taking great pride in watching them grow. The memories they shared with her, from the simplest moments to special occasions, will remain always. The bond between grandparents is one that is so strong it can never be broken. They hold each other’s hearts forever.
As a member of MT. Carmel Church, Indianapolis, IN, with Dr. Theron D. Williams I as pastor, she always shared how much her church meant to her. She loved hearing God’s word taught with truth and grace. More than that, she loved the people there. She especially loved Lamar Campbell and the music ministry. Thank you for being a constant source of strength, faith and encouragement in her life.
Reneida’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of friends, relatives, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She will always be remembered for her caring heart, loving spirit, strength, her giving, and the way she made others feel like family.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her love and legacy will continue through her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all those she loved. She was a wonderful and extraordinary woman!
