Ricardo Z. Lopez

Ricardo Z. Lopez, age 67, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2026, just over a month after the passing of his beloved wife, Betty.

Ricardo was born on June 17, 1959, to Pedro and Antonia Lopez. He graduated from Harlandale High School and went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Betty Lopez, on January 27, 1979.

Together, Ricardo and Betty shared 47 years of marriage and built a beautiful life and family, raising three children.

Ricardo was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his perfectly cut grass, his one-of-a-kind dance moves, and, of course, his unforgettable rooster crow at the bingo table. Ricardo had a way of making people open up and laugh.

May he remain forever in our hearts, and may we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace, resting alongside his wife of 47 years.

Ricardo is survived by his daughters, Lydia J. Landin (Felix Landin) and Nancy DeLeon (Pablo DeLeon); his son, Ricardo G. Lopez (Alexus Neira); his sister, Lupe Espinoza (Joe Gomez); his grandchildren, Zachariah Vara, Pablo DeLeon III, and Nikko DeLeon; and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Lopez Sr.; his mother, Antonia Z. Lopez; his stepfather, Jerry Balderas; and his brothers, Pete Lopez, Trini Lopez, Freddy Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Andy Lopez, and Jesse Lopez.

Visitation for Ricardo will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at First Memorial Cemetery, 20567 Highway 16 South, Von Ormy, Texas 78073.
