Richard A. Landino, 89, of Southington, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Southington Care Center, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (D’Angelo) Landino for 37 years.
Born April 5, 1937 in Bristol, he was the son of the late Angelo and Eleanor (Diyulio) Landino.
Richard, affectionately known as “Dick,” was a mechanical engineer for 35 years, retiring in 1994 from Hamilton Standard United Technologies. A man of dedication and integrity, he built a respected career while also giving generously of his time and leadership to his community.
He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Church in Plantsville and a founding member of the former Mary Our Queen Church. Dick was deeply involved in civic and youth organizations throughout Southington, serving as past president of the Southington Jaycees, the SHS Gridiron Club, and the Miss Connecticut Pageant. He was also a long-time supporter of Southington Youth Sports. He will be fondly remembered by his Thursday night Spartans group, where his friendship and presence were deeply valued.
Above all, Dick was a devoted family man. In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he leaves his five children: Shari Baillargeon and her husband Kerry of Southington; Beth Chatfield and her husband Bryant of Avon; David Landino and his wife Valerie of Southington; Philip Landino and his wife Christine of Southington; and Jennifer Doty and her husband Jason of Plantsville. He was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren: Leah, Jeffery, Jessica, Brandon, Sydney, Jackson, Carson, Erika, Emily, Heather, Jonathan, and Zachary; and five great-grandchildren: Ava, Millie, Lily, Wes, and Catherine.
He is also survived by his brother Ralph Landino and his wife Barbara of Florida; his nephew Dean Landino of Southington; and his niece Christina Landino of Florida. He was predeceased by his first wife Bette Ann (Laskoske) Landino and his nephew Michael Landino.
