Richard John Sheehan, born February 23, 1963, in Tucson, passed away on August 20, 2026, in his Phoenix home. Richard was the fourth of six children of Ann and Edward Sheehan. Richard attended St. Cyril’s of Alexandria and graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, humor, and hard work that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Richard loved making people laugh, often sharing stories of mishaps, run-ins with “stupid people,” or the funny experiences he collected throughout his life. His storytelling was a gift — he could turn an ordinary moment into something unforgettable. If you were planning a trip, Richard would call and offer his expertise as he knew every shortcut, every road to avoid, but most importantly, he knew all the best hole in the wall restaurants. Richard spent most of his adult life working as an electrician, taking on a variety of jobs until he eventually found his place with Classic Party Rentals Company. He traveled from state to state, installing electrical systems in big tents for events ranging from car shows to executive gatherings to the Tucson Gem Show. True to Richard’s personality, he made friends at every stop and never hesitated to help anyone who needed a hand. He worked at the Tucson Gem Show for more than ten years, becoming a familiar and trusted face among the repeat vendors. If you ever visited the Gem Show while Richard was there, you were practically guaranteed a great deal—his customers adored him and always made sure you got the “family discount.”
Richard’s generosity, humor, and love for life will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who crossed paths with him. His stories, his laughter, and his kindness will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
