Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on November 25, 1928, to Joseph and Dorothy Fitzgerald, LaVerne aspired to be a nurse, fulfilling her dream at age 46 and having a dedicated 20-year career. She moved to Florida after her husband's passing and later resided in Sanford, where she cared for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her family members and leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives.
Her life was marked by resilience, compassion, and love for her family.
