Robbie Poole

Robbie Sims Poole went to be with her Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus on August 8, 2026.

Robbie was born in Talladega, Alabama on November 7, 1950, to Harold and Joyce Sims. She moved to Birmingham in 1975 and remained a resident there until her passing. She went to nursing school at UAB and graduated in 1983 with honors despite having two young boys to contend with at home.

She began her 34-year nursing career in cardiac surgery care and completed her career as a clinical administrator for a cardiology practice. Her caring and loving spirit was a blessing to the many patients and staff over these many years.

Robbie treasured her role as a mother to her two sons and daughter-in-law and cherished her role as grandmother to her three grandchildren. For the last 29 years she generally would introduce herself as simply, “Gran” as she saw this as her most significant task in life. She loved beach trips, Disney trips, and cruises with her family as these were truly her happiest places with the people she loved.

Her faith and The Church of Highlands were the centerpieces of her life for the last several years. She served on the altar prayer team and volunteered at many events at the church. She was in several Bible study groups through the church as well and these ladies were such a blessing to her. Her family also greatly appreciates their love and care of her through the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold Sims and Joyce Sims as well as her brother Williams Sims. She is survived by her sons Chris (Embree) Poole of Signal Mountain, Tennessee and Colby Poole of Denver, Colorado; and grandchildren Madeline Poole, fiancé Luca Dincola, of Denver, Colorado; Collins Poole, fiancée Giselle Vincent of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Leah Poole of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

There will be a celebration of life Monday, August 17, 2026, at 2pm central time at Church of the Highlands Chapel at the Grants Mill Campus with a visitation with the family to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Robbie requested donations to be made to Highlands College.
