Robert Eugene McMillon, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, love, laughter, and devotion to his family and country.
Robert was born in Calera, Alabama, to Helen Glass and Trell McMillon. He proudly served his country for 20 years on active duty in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam. His military service was an important part of his life, and his love and respect for his fellow service members remained with him throughout the years. Military charities were especially near and dear to his heart.
Robert will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Linda, and his four daughters, Judy, Laurie, Bobbi Jo, and Audrey. He was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. He especially loved to hear the pitter-patter of those little feet coming through the door and filling his home with laughter, love, and life. His family was his greatest legacy, and the love he shared with each generation will live on in the memories they carry with them. The memories they made will be cherished forever.
Robert had a gift for making people feel welcome. He never met anyone he couldn’t strike up a chat with. Whether he was talking with an old friend or meeting someone for the very first time, he could always find something to talk about. His easy conversation, friendly nature, and genuine interest in people were a special part of who he was.
Outside of his military career and family life, Robert enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He was passionate about bowling and loved listening to country music.
Robert will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his love for his family, his friendly and outgoing personality, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. His memory will live on through his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
