Robert G. Lundgren

Robert (“Bob”) Lundgren, age 85, of Romeoville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at Bolingbrook Hospital surrounded by his loving family on August 19, 2026.He was born in Berwyn at MacNeal Hospital on July 25, 1941 to the late George and Dorothy “Dottie” Lundgren (nee Horak). Bob attended and graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School where he met the love of his life, Lois. He then attended a trade school before becoming a volunteer fireman for the Riverside Fire Department. He was an outside salesman for Jessop Steel for 15 years (1963 to 1978) before he became an outside salesman for Sandmeyer Steel for 28 years, then retiring from the company in 2007. Bob had a spectacular personality, which is the main reason why Sandmeyer Steel hired him right on the spot. He was so well liked by all of his colleagues and clients that they urged him to stay with the company longer before his retirement. He had an extremely outgoing personality towards just about everyone he met. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved going on family trips, dinners, and spending time with family.
