Robert Lee Long, 62, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter, Melissa and his wife, Lynn, by his side on May 24, 2026, at 5:10pm. He was born on November 26, 1963, in Union Hospital.
Robert graduated from North High School, class of 1983. After graduation he had many roles in life from welding at Great Dane to woodworking or blacksmithing, something to see his wife smile. In life Robert also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cleaning his guns and just being a survivalist. He also loved doing yard work with his son, Andrew, even though they always managed to get hurt. He was the best dad to the only daughter that meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Long Sr and Patricia (Kelly) Long, sister, Tressa, best friend, John Neift and daughter, Kristi.
Robert leaves behind his best friend and wife, Lynn Long, his loving daughter, Melissa Long (Beretta), a son, Andrew (Ashley), his siblings, Harold, Loise and Mildred, his grandchildren, Brenton, Michael and many others. Cremation has been entrusted to Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date.
