Ronald Patrick Cavanagh, beloved husband of the late Margaret Campbell, passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2026, at the age of 88, following a long battle with dementia.
Ronnie leaves behind his loving children: Greg (April), Julie (Garry), Lon (Carol), Jill (Mel), and Joanne (Phil). He was the cherished grandfather of Melissa, Neil, Shane, Tyler, and Jared, and step-grandfather of Chris, Corrie, Rebecca, and Sarah. He was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.
Ronnie was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Cavanagh and Myrtle Donaldson of Grenville, QC as well as his brothers, Wayne and Perry. He is survived by his sisters, Carole-Lynn MacLean and Sheila Cavanagh, and will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and warm hospitality, Ronnie loved bringing people together. He had a lifelong passion for country music and was an accomplished steel guitar player who brought joy to many through his music. His family is comforted in knowing he is reunited with his loved ones.
He’s left a legacy of his love for music behind along with his love for his family.
The family will welcome friends and family at Desforges Funeral Home on Saturday July 4th, 2026 from 9 AM. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday July 4th, at 11 AM.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cecile-Godin in Beauharnois for their exceptional care, compassion, kindness, and respect which allowed Ronnie to live his final days with dignity and comfort.
