Rose A. Garcia, 78, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on April 28, 2026. She was born May 10, 1947, in Cameron, Texas, to her parents, Dorotheo and Tomasa Montezi, the sixth of nine children.
From a young age, Rose was very fashion forward and decided to carry that distinctive sense of style and purpose with her to attend Beauty school. A woman of many talents and hobbies, She had an extreme passion for making and creating things such as ceramics, crocheting, sewing as a gifted seamstress, and jewelry making. Those passions led her to be a well-known volunteer at St Joseph Catholic Church and a major advocate for spreading the Word of the Lord.
Through her faith and strong will Rose became a breast cancer survivor and a meaningful presence at the Susan G. Komen events. She also gave her time to support other women as they faced their own cancer journeys. She put that same love and dedication into her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Above all, Rose proudly instilled the strong love of Jesus Christ into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to continue her faith and putting that same devotion into her family and friends.
Over the last eight years of her life, she experienced great love and commitment of care from her husband Pete. She was constantly surrounded by the affection of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a circle of love that remained close to her until the end.
Rose is survived by her husband of 57 years, Pete Garcia Jr.; their children Michelle Garcia Ramirez and husband Joe, PJ Garcia and his wife Deanna; her grandchildren, Alyssa Lara, Jaren Garcia, Dylan Lara, Matthew Lara, Reanna Garcia Hernandez, Breanna Garcia, and her 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers please make a kind donation in Rose’s name to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
