Saeed Quraeshi

September 6, 2026 Voluntas

With deep love and sorrow, we mark the passing of Saeed Quraeshi on September 6, 2026. A devoted husband, visionary mechanical engineer, published author and thoughtful speaker, Saeed lived a life guided by integrity and profound kindness.

Saeed was married to his beloved wife, Kari-Gro Balzersen, for over 66 years, sharing a bond defined by deep affection, mutual respect and a true lifelong partnership. Their journey began as two international students who met at Oklahoma State University, marking the start of an enduring love story.

Driven by a brilliant technical mind and a belief in sustainable energy, Saeed dedicated his life as a mechanical engineer to pioneering wind energy technologies. A true visionary, his work took him across the globe, leading research and development initiatives and patenting designs of his groundbreaking concepts. His work ethic was inspirational, driven by a desire to leave a lasting impact, and he continued his passion well into his eighties.

Along with his engineering achievements, he enjoyed public speaking, beginning as a toastmaster in university and then becoming a founding member of the Beaconsfield Toastmasters chapter over 50 years ago.

Saeed was a gentleman in every sense. Known for his patience, generosity and open mind, he touched countless lives with his quiet strength, grace and loving heart.

His memory, warmth, and wisdom will remain cherished by his family forever. Saeed (aka Papa) will be profoundly missed by his wife, Kari, as well as his children and grandchildren: Sabrina with Kai and Leif Andreas; Shereen with Morgan and Noah; Leif (Gaëlle) with Alexia, Liam and Logan; and Shameen (Barry) with Sierra and Alex.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring to honour his memory, reflect on his contributions and share stories of a life so exceptionally lived.

Peace be with you.
