Shameela Amera Chicoine

Shameela was born in Victoria BC and spent the last 30 years of my life in Aldergrove BC.

She is predeceased by her husband, Andy, her parents May and Dick Larson, her children, Matthew and Violet, as well as her brothers, Lawrence and Bobby.

Shameela leaves behind her daughter’s Tina (Jeff), Lucy (Michael), and son Armind. Shameela also leaves grandchildren Gabrieal, Madison, Caitlin, Kelton and Faith. She has left her siblings, Rick, Carmen, Lisa, Lorrainne, and Louise, and many other family and close friends.

Throughout her life, Shameela worked in a variety of jobs, but her greatest calling was out of being a foster parent. She opened her home and heart to all who needed her and needed a safe place, even for a little while. Her willingness to welcome those who needed her is reflection of the kind of person Shameela was.

Shameela will be remembered by her family and all those who knew her for her determination to see the Good in everyone. She showed kindness and compassion and shared her home to anyone who needed a safe place, a helping hand or a hot meal.

Show me the love to cook, bake, so and found joy and strength, and caring for others. Her generosity, warmth and love for all around her will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5 at First Memorial Funeral Services in Victoria BC (4725 Falaise Drive) at 12:00. Following the chapel service, Shameela will be laid to rest at Hatley Memorial Gardens (2050 Sooke Road, Victoria BC). At 2:00.

There will be a tea after the cemetery service, address will be provided at the chapel.
