Sharold Dunlap Cotton Greene, age 79, passed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Grace Village in Granite Falls. She was born on December 17, 1946, in Humboldt, TN, to the late Harold and Mary Jane Dunlap.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Luke Greene.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Rebecca Jane Horn (husband Steven), Brian Sterling Howell, and Shara Danese Cotton; her brother Michael Dunlap (wife Joyce); one grandson Sterling Howell; and many beloved friends and extended family members.
Sharold was a dedicated educator and taught 3rd grade for over 30 years. She attended Nelson’s Chapel Baptist Church in Lenoir. She had a passion for scrapbooking, photography, and volunteer work. Sharold could not leave a stray cat alone and enjoyed the work she did to help the Watauga Humane Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Sharold on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford, North Carolina
