Sonya Olivia Serda, born on August 17, 1970, in Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away on April 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and those whose lives she touched deeply.
Sonya was born to Antonio Maria Serda Sr and Florine Serda. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Baby Serda, a loss she carried with quiet strength, grace, and enduring love throughout her life.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Artinessa Golliher and her husband, Dominic Golliher, and Heather Reyes. Sonya adored her grandchildren, Alexxander, Lilianna, and William Jr., and was blessed to meet and love her great-grandson, Ace King. She is also survived by her siblings, Susana, Sylvia, and Antonio. Sonya was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a cherished cousin and friend to many.
For many years, Sonya dedicated her life and career to helping others as a Patient Rights Ombudsman at the Arizona State Hospital. Her compassion, empathy, and unwavering commitment to advocating for those in need left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.
Sonya was a rock for everyone around her. She always offered a listening ear without judgment and was someone people could turn to in times of need. No matter the circumstance, she was always there with love, comfort, guidance, and support. Her kindness, strength, and selflessness will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Sonya Olivia Serda will be held at Saint Helen’s Catholic Church, located at 205 W. 8th Street, Eloy, Arizona 85131. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM.
Burial services will follow at Eloy Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 5839 E. Milligan Road, Eloy, Arizona 85131, at 12:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM at Saint Helen’s Church Hall, next to Saint Helen’s Catholic Church, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Sonya’s life and legacy.
