Steven Nelson Forrest, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 69. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Steven spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved.
Steven shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Candace Forrest. Together they built a life centered on love, family, laughter, and friendship. He was a proud and loving father to his son, Lee Cain Forrest.
He is survived by his wife Candace Forrest and son Lee Cain Forrest; his sister, Vicki Brandt (Terry); mother-in-law, Billie Irene Cain; brother-in-law, John Cain (Debbie); along with many cherished nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
Steven dedicated his professional life to education as a retired Educational Diagnostician with Socorro ISD, where he touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues through his compassion, patience, and commitment to helping others succeed.
Outside of his career, Steven embraced life fully. He was a talented cook who loved preparing meals for family and friends, an avid traveler always eager for new adventures, and a passionate gardener who found peace and joy nurturing growing things. Steven was also known as a wonderful conversationalist who never met a stranger. His warm personality, quick wit, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome and valued.
A Celebration of Life honoring Steven will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m at Funeraria Del Angel Crestview, 1462 N. Zaragoza Rd. El Paso, Texas 79936.
Steven’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
