Stewart Allan

July 8, 2026 Lachute, Quebec Voluntas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stewart Allan on July 8, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born in Perth, Scotland, Stewart immigrated to Canada as a young child and grew up in Montreal West. He later set roots in Pointe-Claire where he raised his family and called it home. Though Canada became home, Scotland always held a special place in his heart, and he remained proud of his Scottish roots.

A skilled painter, Stewart took pride in his craft. Early in his career, he worked on large ships and oil rigs, work that remained a source of pride throughout his life. He enjoyed a round of golf, and spending time with friends at the pub. He enjoyed taking his beloved mother, Mary, for groceries or drives.

Stew will be remembered for his quick wit and dry humour and his unmistakable stubborn streak. Those who loved him knew that beneath his tough exterior was a caring man who quietly showed he cared through his actions. During his illness, his sister, Deirdre, spent several months by his side, a kindness for which the family is deeply grateful.

Stewart will be deeply missed by his daughters, Lauren and Brooke; their mother, Teresa Rassenti; his mother, Mary, his sister, Deirdre; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Stew’s life on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Maison des Brasseurs Dawes, 2901 Boulevard Saint-Joseph, Lachine, Quebec, H8S 4B7. Please join us to share stories and raise a glass.
