Thomas Burwell Greene Jr.

Thomas “Tom” Burwell Greene Jr., 79, of Broomfield, Colorado, went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2026. Born in Denver on April 4, 1947, to Tom and Rose Greene, Tom grew up in North Denver and graduated from North High School.

He pursued his passion for learning at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), where he earned his master’s degree. More importantly, UNC is where he met the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Woegens. The two were married for 56 beautiful years, building a foundation of love, faith, and family.

Tom spent his career sharing his love for numbers and mentorship as a junior high and high school math teacher in Jefferson County, teaching at Lakewood Junior High, Moore Junior High, and Standley Lake High School. An enthusiastic coach, he guided countless students in girls' softball, boys' baseball, and basketball. He retired from teaching in 2003 but never truly stopped giving back.

A man of deep faith and action, Tom dedicated his retirement to serving others. He volunteered faithfully at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community and Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church. He regularly assisted in the Rosary and communion services at Highland Trails Senior Living and spent years delivering meals for the City of Broomfield’s Meals on Wheels program.

Tom was an avid sports enthusiast who stayed active playing softball and volleyball well into his 70s. He was a passionate collector of baseball, football, and hockey memorabilia, and a die-hard Colorado sports fan, proudly holding Denver Broncos season tickets since 1966. Above all, his absolute favorite pastimes were the ones spent supporting his family and joyfully attending the many events of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Rose Greene, and his brothers, Mike Greene and Steve Greene.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" Greene; his daughter, Melodi Pinz and her husband Travis; his son, Steve Greene and his wife Lindsey; and his four cherished grandchildren, Robert Pinz, Abbi Pinz, Harper Greene, and Austin Greene.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church (900 W. Midway Blvd, Broomfield, CO). A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM, followed immediately by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Tom’s honor.
