Thu Van Nguyen, born to parents Lai Van Nguyen and Coi Thi Nguyen on April 14, 1932, in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, was called home to the Lord at the age of 94 at 9:30 P.M. on September 24, 2026, in San Jose, California, USA.

Thu's life was defined by remarkable resilience and steadfast faith. He received his education at the Soeur Saint Paul de Chartres in 1940 and the Frere Saint Jean-Baptiste De La Salle in 1947. In 1950, he enlisted in the French army before transferring to the South Vietnamese Army in 1956, and he later completed specialized training at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland in 1963.

After enduring great hardships in post-1975 Saigon, he courageously crossed the sea to Singapore, seeking political asylum in the United States to secure a better future for his family. Once in the United States, he worked at Ross Hill Controls in Texas and Fred Jones Ford in Oklahoma before finally retiring to California in 2000.

Thu is survived by his beloved wife, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, his seven children, and numerous grandchildren. His legacy of quiet endurance, family devotion, unforgettable wit, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

May our merciful God welcome the soul of Thu Van Nguyen into His eternal presence and grant him everlasting rest and peace. We will forever remember, miss, and love Thu Van Nguyen and be grateful for everything he has done.
