Trudy Marie Spain, 88, of Decatur, AL passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born on June 22, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a child of God. She taught middle school English for many years, enjoyed cooking, entertaining, reading, volunteering at the library, quilting, and was known for her infectious smiles and laughter. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, and was preceded in death by her husband Leo and her parents Otto and Gertrude Helm.
